City of Ironwood Compost Site Information
The compost site is available to the City of Ironwood RESIDENTS ONLY. Ironwood residents can drop off eligible items (listed below) FREE of charge. An attendant will be onsite during hours of operation. Proof of residency (driver license) or proof of property ownership (acceptable documents of proof include: most recent property tax bill, current month water bill or utility bill) in the City of Ironwood will be required to be provided to the attendant.
Previously the City of Ironwood Compost Site was unmanaged, resulting in unregulated disposal and use of the facility by individuals and businesses outside the community. In 2021, the City of Ironwood had a very costly cleanup that required the City to implement some changes. The City has implemented many efforts to establish and maintain the operations of this facility to ensure the long-term sustainability of this service to the City of Ironwood residents.
