Downtown Sewer Lining Project
Construction for the Downtown Sewer Lining Project is scheduled to begin on Monday May 8th on Lowell St between Aurora St and Mcleod Ave. This section of roadway will be closed in order to install a new sewer manhole in Lowell Street at the intersection of the alley next to the Downtown City Square. Once construction is completed in Lowell Street, the work will be shifted to Aurora Street between Suffolk St and Lowell St, in order to replace a collapsing section of sewer main. Traffic will be detoured around the construction activities. It is anticipated that both sections of roadway will remain closed throughout the week or until completion of the repairs at each location. Sidewalk access to businesses will remain open throughout the downtown during construction.
